Earlen Jay Hamp returned home on June 22, 2017.  Earlen was born on September 19, 1930 to Ezra William and Hilda Mae (Brande) Hamp.  He was raised in Stockton, Utah and married his sweetheart Loretta Gaye Anderson in 1950.  They were married 61 years when she passed six years ago.

Earlen was blessed with five children, 37 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren with one on the way, and one great-great grandchild.

Earlen had his own business Hamp Drywall & Roofing.  He built many houses, businesses, and churches both in the Tooele area and other states, including the remodeling of the Kirk Hotel.  He loved fishing, his westerns, and riding and spotting deer with his son-in-law, Glen.  He was an avid Utah Jazz fan and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Earlen is survived by his children Jay (Pearl) Hamp (AZ), Ron (Brenda) Hamp (WY), Sherry (Glen) Tomboc (Tooele), Dee (Paul) Miller (Tooele), Don (Bree) Hamp (SLC), his special daughter-in-law LaDawn (Jim) (Tooele), his brother-in-law Kay (Patsy) Anderson, and his sisters-in-law Sharon (Bob) Owens and Ruby Hamp.  He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brothers Bill and Floyd Hamp, several in-laws, nieces and nephews, and a special great grandson, Jacob Michael Fawson.

The family would like to thank his neighbors, friends, and caretakers at the University of Utah Hospital.

We know she was waiting for you, Dad. We love and will always miss you!

Graveside Services will be held at Grantsville Cemetery Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 1:00 pm.
