Sally Della Medina Martinez

June 1940 ~January 2018

Fondly referred to as Selina by her beloved husband, Amador, our beautiful mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, and great greatest grandmother, Sally Della Medina Martinez passed away January 31, 2018 surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Durango, CO on June 19, 1940 to Presentacion Medina and Clotilda Martinez Medina, she married the love of her life, Amador Martinez in 1956. She retired from Litton Guidance and Control System after 25 years of service.

Sally enjoyed her retirement years, traveling, spending winters in Yuma Arizona, taking her grandchildren on vacation, and the many treasures she would find during her shopping trips to ZCMI (AKA: Deseret Industries). She was always up for a good laugh and loved sharing funny stories about the people in her life. As friends come and go, our mother never forgot about them. That was apparent when out of nowhere she would often ask, “by the way, whatever happened to so and so, I really liked them?”

Sally is preceded in death by her love, Amador, parents and siblings: Angie Mestas, Frances (Frankie) Martinez, Bernice Albo, Don Medina and Filbert Medina. She is survived by her children: Patricia, Anna (Pat), Kai (Adela), and Dean. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, her two Yorkies, Lacie and Tinkerbell, siblings, Genevieve Quintana, Vangie Mace, Johnny Medina and many other family members.

While her passing leaves us with a heavy heart, we will never forget her laughter, her words of caution (there were many), sense of humor, and her love for her family. We love you to the moon and back.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm on Monday February 5th at Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main Street, Tooele, UT. Viewing will be held from 11:00am-12:15pm prior to services that same day. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
