Jay LaMar Fidler

Jay LaMar Fidler passed away Dec. 26, 2008, due to complications from sudden cardiac arrest. He was born June 1, 1931, in Salt Lake City to William Grant and Marcella Hanks Fidler. He grew up in Tooele and later moved to Pioche, Nev. where he graduated from Lincoln County High School in 1947. After completing one year of college at the University of Utah, he enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as a medic in the Korean Conflict. Following the completion of his military service, he began his career with United Airlines in 1956. In 1960 he married the love of his life Bonnie Belle Wilson and was blessed with two children, Jalyne Fidler (Tooele, UT) and Lawrence Grant Larry Fidler (Everett, Wash.). He was preceded in death by his parents and his sweetheart, Bonnie Belle, who died in 1973. He is survived by his brother, William Grant Fidler Jr., his two children and three grandchildren, Clarissa Anne Fidler, Spencer LaMar Fidler, Elizabeth Ellen Fidler; and his Maltese pup Petey. He leaves behind many cherished friends and family. Service will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 1 p.m. at the Tooele South Stake Center. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Interment Tooele City Cemetery.
