1919-2009

Our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away from complications of Parkinson Disease on Jan 31, 2009. Mom loved life especially her family and friends. Mom was born July 29, 1919, her parents were Andy and Carrie Busch of O’Fallon Ill. Mom graduated in 1937 and moved to Price, Utah to live with her Uncle & Aunt. She was a waitress for abut a year and a half. Her Aunt Jane in Redding asked her to move out there, mom left and went to Redding, CA. where she worked in a Soda Fountain in Woolworth’s Store. In 1941 Mom met the love of her life in Redding, CA. Mom and Dad dated for awhile. He was then transferred to the Presidio Army Base in San Francisco. One day Dad called Mom and said,”I have three days off, would you marry me?” Mom said yes, that was 65 years ago last April 30th. They lived there until my Dad was called to serve in Alaska guarding the Bering Straits. Mom and Dad had two children Peggy (Dutch) of Grantsville, and Tom (Val) Hepner of South Carolina. After Dad came home, after the war, they settled in Benicia, CA. until May 1962. Mom then moved to Utah once again, she worked at the Kirk Hotel when there was a restaurant there for two years. She then started working at the Cornet store on Main St. as a Cashier. She then went to work at the Tooele Army Depot as a Clerk’s Helper until she retired in 1976. Mom loved to dance. She is one of the last Charter Members of the Moose Lodge, she joined in 1951. She loved camping, fishing, and tending all her grandchildren. Mom has five grandchildren, Darrin (Michelle) Cook of Pleasant Grove, Ut. Teresa Anderson of Grantsville,Ut. Tony Cook of  Tooele, Ut. Steve (Michelle) Hepner of  Nibley, Ut. and Kathy (Steve) Bardley of  South Carolina. Mom has 14 great grandchildren. Mom is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, one brother Andy Jr. one sister Carrie, a step-mother Lara Busch, step-father Emil Modene and step-brother Andy III of O’Fallon Illinois. A special thank you goes out to Rocky Mtn Care and to the Mountain West Home and Hospice for their loving care of my mother. We can’t ever thank them enough and a real special Thanks to Dr. Trudel. We all know what a happy reunion they are all having in Heaven. We’ll miss you Mom. Memorial services will be held Friday Feb 6, 2009 at 10:00 AM at Tate Mortuary. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 9:00-10:00AM prior at the Mortuary.
