Doris Lust
Doris Mary Larsen Lust passed away February 24, 2009. Doris was born July 24, 1920 to Mary Braithwaite and Daniel Leo Larsen in Sugar City, Idaho. She and her mother and two sisters moved to Tooele, UT in 1928 following the death of her father. Doris graduated from Tooele High School in 1938, where she made many lifelong friends. Those friendships continued throughout her life. She also attended L.D.S. Business College.
Doris married Anthony (Tony) DeSimon Sept. 28, 1940. They were later divorced. She married Walter Lust December 29, 1971. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was employed for 24 years at Tooele Army Depot as a management relations specialist. She retired in 1974. Doris enjoyed serving her community in various capacities. She served in several positions in the Tooele Civic League, including president, vice president, treasurer and chairman of several departments and committees. She was elected clubwoman of the year in 1987. She was also an active member of daughters of the Utah pioneers.
For many years she did volunteer work at the veterans Regional Medical Center and Tooele Valley Nursing Home. She served on the Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board on the county and state levels.
Doris was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in various positions throughout of her life including Sunday School Superintendant, teacher and secretary. She served as president, secretary and teacher of the Young Women’s organization and as a teacher in the Relief Society.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Janet Cox and Karma Lee Barlow (David) and three stepchildren, Stanley Lust (Carlene), Karen Crest (Bud), David Lust (Janice) and 9 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 7 step great grandchildren.
Services will be held Monday March 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tooele 8th Ward, 196 Pinehurst Avenue. Viewing will be held at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Burial in the Tooele City Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Autumn Park assisted living in Mt Pleasant, Utah for their kind and loving care of their mother.
