cochranejaneJane Hollander Cochrane, 89, passed away quietly into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, May 12, 2009.
She was born in Tooele on April 1, 1920 and was preceded in death by her loving parents, three sisters and one brother. She was married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple to John Edward Hollander Jr. who passed away in 1982. Jane is survived by four children: Sandra Smith, John E Hollander III, Dan E. Hollander and Scott E. Hollander. Jane came back to Tooele to visit her sister and met a schoolmate, Allan Cochrane. They married and had many wonderful years traveling back and forth between Arizona and Utah. After Allan passed away in 2001, Jane remained in Tooele with family and friends.

Jane truly loved life and her school classmates of 1938. The purple and white Tooele High colors signified a very happy time for Jane and friends. She always enjoyed the family gatherings and loved to celebrate the holidays. She was secretary to the Tooele Senior Center and gave service and love to all at the center. She was a member of the Tooele 8th Ward and a life time member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various callings in Primary, Sunday school, MIA, Scouts and she loved her calling as a visiting teacher. Her favorite calling was being a Temple Worker where she answered the prayer roll telephone line in the Salt Lake Temple.

Jane we will miss you so much! You were a great example of service and compassion for all those you came in contact with, especially your family and friends. Your gracious, kind, loving example will shine in our memories inspiring us and others to do better. We will always remember your great attitude, your smile and the spirit you brought with you.

Services will be held in the Tooele 8th Ward building on Saturday, May 16, at Pinehurst and Utah Ave. Viewing will be at 9 a.m. with services beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery, Scottsdale Ariz.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to a memorial fund in the name of Jane Cochrane at HeritageWest Credit Union. Donations will go to the Primary Children’s Hospital and the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
