Carolee Rae Jones Riley passed away peacefully Feb. 23, 2010 at her home in Tooele after a courageous 12-year battle with breast cancer. She was born in Tooele on March 9, 1949 to James George and Mary Elizabeth (Shorty) Ishmiel Jones. She is survived by her husband, Garrett W. Riley; children Stephen (Annie) Culley, Melissa (Troy) Hohmann, Jeremy Culley, Garrett (Viwan, May) Riley II, McKenna (Don) Caldwell and Brian Riley; mother-in-law, Shari K. Graves; father and mother in law, Arthur and Ellen Mikesell. She is also survived by six grandchildren: Ryker, Gabriel, Brooklyn Elizabeth, Beckham, Hunter Marie and Roper Judd and one more on the way. She had many close cousins, friends and coworkers that she loved dearly and they her. She has been active in the LDS Church ever since her conversion when she was 28. Her most recent calling was Relief Society President and she loved serving her sisters in the ward. She also held many other callings over the years. She had an amazing work ethic that was appreciated by her employers and coworkers over the years. She loved working construction especially and wore it like a badge of honor. Most of the construction guys adopted her as an “on the job” surrogate mother and she appreciated them watching out for her. She loved doing genealogy, scrapbooking and her crafts. She loved our vacations to St. George, Disneyland and Hawaii. She especially loved the roller coasters. She always loved the ocean and couldn’t stop talking about her trip to Oregon to visit with her niece and sister-in-law and their family this last summer. She even dedicated a room in our house that she called the beach room. The outpouring from friends has been overwhelming. She was an amazing woman and friend to all she came in contact with. She will be sorely missed. In lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to the Jon and Karen Huntsman Cancer center. There will be a viewing Friday Feb 26th at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main Street Tooele, from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be Saturday Feb 27th at the Tooele North Stake Center, 583 North 270 East at 1 p.m. With a viewing prior to the service from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Graveside services at approximately 2:30 p.m. at the Tooele City Cemetery.
