John Papish
1920 – 2010
Our family patriarch, John Papish, passed away peacefully on February 11, 2010 surrounded by his family who loved him. Uncle Johnny was born in Tooele, UT on February 28, 1920 to Urih & Johanna Papish. He joined the US Army and served his country during WWII. He retired from Kennecott. He was known for his fiery personality, but once you got past that you found a heart of gold. He devoted his life to ensure his family was taken care of. He loved watching sports, sometimes three games at once. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Mary Bergeron, Jenny Sherwood, Rose Shinder, Margaret Watson, Annie Walters and Francis McMain; his brothers Edward, Joseph and Frank. He is survived by 16 nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held at Tate Mortuary on Wednesday, February 17th from 10:00 – 11:00, with a prayer service at 11:00. Graveside services will follow at the Tooele City Cemetery. Officiating will be Father Diaz. Thanks to Harmony Hospice and Beehive Home of Tooele.
