Deloria Darrel Stephens Eschler
Deloria was born in Caliante, Nev., to Arvel and Delora Jessup Stephens. She married Merrill Escher August 18, 1961 in Elko, Nev. The marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles LDS temple. They have one son, Steven Merrill. She spent her childhood in Pioche, Nev., and Cedar City, Utah. She graduated from Beaver High School in 1961, and lived most of her life in Salt Lake City. She spent most of the last year in the home of her sister Rose in Tooele. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers: Lerois (Roberta) and Spencer. She is survived by her son Steven; two brothers, Frank (Sandra) and Sheldon (Sherry); sister Rose (Jay) Bradfield; and many nieces and nephews. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed making quilts. She loved babies, animals, fishing, country western music, Wendover fun, scary movies, singing and doing puzzles. She was sociable, patient, meticulous and had quite a sense of humor. Her family would like to thank Dr. Jay Spector and the Westside Community Nursing Center staff for their excellent care and concern. Funeral services will be held in Tooele at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main Street, on Saturday, March 20, with a viewing at 9 a.m. and services beginning at 10 a.m. Interment Salt Lake City Cemetery.
