Robert B Mitchell, 68, passed away quickly and peacefully on Monday, March 8, 2010. He was born in Quincy, Mass., on May 7, 1941 and was the child of Dorothy and Robert Mitchell. He joined the US Army and served multiple tours in Vietnam. Retiring from the military in 1981 with the rank Master Sergeant, he went on to work at Computer Sciences Corporation until his retirement at 55. He enjoyed living the retired life, politics, and keeping up with technology and science information. He is survived by his children Marcia Landergren and her husband, Bruce Landergren of Glouchester, Mass., Jamie Madruga of Maine, both children of Elizabeth “Reb” Wheeler. Elgia LaGrow and wife, Becky LaGrow of Logandale, Nev., Michael LaGrow of Nevada, and Zachary S. Mitchell and wife, Katherine Mitchell of Grantsville, all sons of Claudia J. Reed. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In addition, he has three brothers, one sister, and multiple nieces and nephews. In addition to family, he is survived by his friends Rick and Caroline Shaw, Hiram and Ingrid. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Robert Mitchell, one sister, and his beloved companion Crystal. There will be a memorial service Monday, March 15 at 11 a.m. at Tooele Veterans Memorial Park. Following the ceremony there will be a dinner. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
