Evelyn Park Benson, age 90, passed away Sunday, August 8th, 2010. She was born November 7,1919 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vesta Viela Gillett and Henry James Park. She was married to Sherman S. Martin later divorced and then married to Vern Duane Benson (Boomer) on May 18,1950 Evelyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she served in many different positions. She worked as a clerk at the Tooele County Court House. She enjoyed the Friday night senior dinners. She will be well remembered for the Birthday cards with money that we all received plus the little extra change for your tax. Surviving are her children LaVern (Albert Aman), Laurali (Lonnie K.Bates), Diane J.Dees, Steve Boomer D. (Melanie) and Margie E. Benson; Daughter in-law Patricia (Terry) Martin; 19 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, son Terry P. Martin, sister Melba Madill, brother Lowell (Beth) Park, son-in-law James C. Swann, Sister-In-Law Ruth E. (Grant) Memmott, Elva Mae (Daniel) Russell, brother-in-law, Ralph M. (Agnes) Benson, and Alfred (Maggie) Benson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday Aug 12, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the Stockton LDS 1st Ward chapel. Friends may call at Tate Mortuary on Wednesday Aug 11, from 6 to 8 pm and on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Tooele City Cemetery.
