On January 9, 2018 Brent Albert Zwahlen passed away peacefully at the age of 63 surrounded by his family. He was born in Manti, Utah on December 16, 1954 to Albert Johnnie Zwahlen and Ione McArthur. He is the youngest of five children. On August 31, 1979 He married the love of his life LaDawn Rice in the Provo temple. They had 11 children together Jon (Angie) Zwahlen, Albert (Shannon)(Nicole[Deceased]) Zwahlen, Brad (Kylee) Zwahlen, Tim (Kimberly) Zwahlen, Melissa (Timothy) West, Michael (Joy) Zwahlen, Amy Zwahlen, Ashley (Nick) Lowery, Adam Zwahlen, Jody Zwahlen, and Hans Zwahlen. They have 14 grandchildren. He loved spending time with his family and was the happiest when they were around.
Dad loved life and loved people. He was often described as a “Big teddy bear.” He made sure all felt welcome in his home.
He had many jobs, but his favorite was driving buses for UTA, where he worked for 11 years. This gave him a great opportunity to interact with others.
He loved to hunt, fish and camp and enjoyed his time outdoors. He loved to read and was very interested in history. Other hobbies including building models. He enjoyed walking and sports.
Due to his health he had to spend much of the last days and moths of his life in hospitals and care centers. This provided his family with the blessing of spending more time with him and some very special quiet moments where we were able to grow closer.
He was Preceded in death by both is parents Albert and Ione, his siblings Phillip, Gwen, Mac, His brothers-in-laws Curt Carlson, Don Fish, his son Hans, his daughter-in-law Nicole Purdence Zwahlen and unborn child. Brent is survived by his sister LaRue Carlson and many other family and friends.

His funeral will be at the LDS church house at 1025 West Utah Ave. in Tooele, Utah, Wednesday, January 17th, at Noon, with a visitation prior from 10:00-11:45.
