Helen Benson Yarbrough (McNicol)June 3, 1932 ~ June 20, 2017 (age 85)
Helen Benson Yarbrough (McNicol), returned to her Heavenly Father on June 20, 2017 while living in Lyman, Wyoming. Helen was born on June 3, 1932 in Cedar City, Utah to James Alma Benson and Martha Verda Robinson Benson. She was raised and lived in Parowan, Utah with many fond memories and stories of her childhood, parents and brothers and sisters. On June 9, 1948 Helen married Max Ira Yarbrough in Parowan Utah, and on November 19, 1950 their marriage was solemnized in the St. George, Utah Temple where they became an eternal couple. They made their first home on North Creek near Beaver, Utah. In 1952 Helen and Max moved with their young family to Tooele Utah, and in 1960 moved To Stockton Utah.
Helen was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving her Heavenly Father in many callings, Relief Society, Young Women’s, and Boy Scouts. She was blessed with the opportunity to serve as a missionary in the Jackson, Mississippi Mission with her husband Max.
Her ultimate past time was the time she spent with her Grandchildren. Her hobbies were crocheting, embroidery, and quilting with many of these items being given to family and friends. She also enjoyed rides in search of deer, elk and antelope, she was always the best spotter.
She is survived by her son’s David James (Heather) Yarbrough of Grantsville, Utah. Paul Ira (Misty) Yarbrough of Manhatten, Kansas. John Alma (Paula D.) Yarbrough of Lyman, Wyoming, ten Grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Max Ira Yarbrough, her husband Blaine McNicol and an infant son Michale Ray Yarbrough, a Daughter in Law Paula Mills Yarbrough, two Grandsons, Justin Yarbrough and Kristoffer Yarbrough, and two Great Grand Children.
Funeral services will begin on Friday June 23, 2017 with a viewing at the Stockton, Utah LDS Chapel at 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Helen will then be transported to Beaver Utah where a viewing will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 PM services from 3:00 to 4:00 at the Beaver Utah Stake Center located at 1350 East 200 North, Beaver. Interment will be at the Mountain View Cemetery in Beaver Utah at immediately after the services under the direction of Tate Mortuary.
