LaNila S. Hein was born February 3, 1933 to Ira and Laura Shepherd in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, and raised in Spanish Fork, Utah. Her earthly journey came to an end on February 27, 2018 after two very valiant battles with cancer. She can now rest at peace. She married Carl G. Hein on October 7, 1953 in the Salt Lake Temple. Mother of three children – Sherrie, Kenneth, and Trois. Grandmother of Seven. Great-Grandmother of twelve. A valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She held many church callings. She enjoyed working at various part time jobs, also volunteering at the Dugway Hospital.
Mom and Dad raised their family in Dugway and Tooele. Mom enjoyed making crafts, painting, peanut clusters, shrimp, hobo stew, rain on the roof, corn, and going for rides. But most of all, she enjoyed when her family came to visit. Mom and Dad made and renewed many friendships as they have spent the past 22 years with friends and family - being snowbirds in Southern Utah and Arizona. These were some of the happiest times of her life. She welcomed and loved visitors whether they were just passing through or staying for a weekend.
LaNila is preceded in death by her parents, a brother and sister. Survived by her loving husband Carl, her three children, and her brother Oren.
