Merrellyn Elaine Miles-Solmonson Merrellyn passed away on Thursday July 28, 2016 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones, after a courageous battle against Alzheimer’s. Merrellyn was born in Tooele, Utah on April 25, 1940. She was the only daughter of David Lawerence Miles and Dorothy Mable Wheeler-Miles. Merrellyn is survived by her husband, Ervin Jay Solomonson and her children Debbie (Fox) & Todd Nixon of Evanston, Wyo. and David & Tammi Fox of Grantsville, UT. She has 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Merrellyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother Dennis Miles. 3 brothers survive her: Don Miles, Jim Miles and Bill Miles. Merrellyn’s greatest joys in life were loving and being loved by her family. She was also, an active member of her community. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in which she held many positions of service. Through her gift of sewing she contributed many items and hours to the humanitarian aid. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and enjoyed all activities associated with the organization. She spent many enjoyable volunteer hours at the Grantsville Senior Center helping and serving. Her kindness and service spread through the communities and neighborhoods wherever she lived. However, her deepest love and joy in life were her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved them, sewed for them, spoiled them and nurtured them. She will be greatly missed, but our memories are bright and full of love for her. Memorial services include a viewing from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the LDS Church at 428 South Hale Street in Grantsville. The following morning there will be a graveside service at the Grantsville Cemetery at 10:00 AM.
