William "Bill" Bruce Podborny 74, passed away in Tooele, Utah on Thursday evening, March 4, 2021 with family by his side. Bill was born on June 9, 1946 to the late Eugene Podborny and Marion Carter Podborny in Sacramento, California. He graduated in 1965 from Mt. Eden High School in Hayward, California. Bill married Kathleen Harmon on January 11, 1969 and raised four children: William (Debbie) Podborny, Raymond (Amanda) Podborny, Larry (Jen) Podborny and Karen (Quinton) Podborny. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Bill is a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a brave and loyal soldier and made many friends while serving our beautiful country. He was discharged from the United States Army with full honors in 1968. Bill was employed at General Motors in Freemont, California for many years. Bill had a passion for working on cars and always loved this job. Bill was able to spend a lot of time with his family in both California and Utah before his death. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. You could always find Bill with a hot cup of coffee in hand and a smile on his face. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Marion Podborny, sister Marilyn (Midge) Stark and brother Daryl Podborny. The funeral service will be held at Holycross Memorial (486 Bridge Street), Yuba City, California 95991 on Friday, March 19, 2021 at 11:00 am, with a viewing prior from 10:00-11:00am. Graveside ceremony to immediately follow at Sutter Cemetery (7200 Butte Avenue), Sutter, California 95982. His family will be present to welcome loved ones and friends.
